Date: April 26, 2009 | Author: Courtney W. Hageman
On April 24, 2009, members of the Quincy Exchange Club dedicated a Freedom Shrine at the Curtis Creek Retirement Center. The center is located at 823 South 36th Street in Quincy and is the residence of longtime member Max Johnson. Approximately 30 members were on hand to hear Life Member John Tripp dedicate the shrine. The Freedom Shrine consists of 19 historical documents. Developed by the National Exchange Club, the Freedom Shrine originated from the Freedom Train that toured the nation in 1947 carrying an exhibit of historic documents.
