QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Didn’t have anything from last week but considering spring training is underway and whiskey is the theme for Friday, I found this gem by Casey Stengel: “They say some of my stars drink whiskey, but I have found that ones who drink milkshakes don't win many ball games.” There has to be a parallel somewhere between great baseball players and great service organizations…
THIS & THAT
Jared Haugh with the prayer and President Art Awerkamp leading the pledge… President Art informing us of a few board actions from the 3/9 meeting: $500 to Cornerstone for a golf sponsorship; $300 to Big Brother/Big Sister for a Bowl for Kidsake Sponsorship; and $1,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association in the names of Wayne McLaughlin and John Ortwerth and their families. Good stuff… Second and final reading on Andy Blaesing sponsored by Tim Muehring… No tail twister or 50/50 Ace of Spades drawing but you can be assured both will be back this week… Read a great book over the weekend – The Shack - by William P. Young. If you haven’t read it, do so. It’s good… That's all for now, 'til next time, may God’s love, grace, and peace be with you and the ones you love.
