NO MEETING THIS FRIDAY
Enjoy time spent with family and friends and watching your fill of basketball and football. As Jim Benz often reminds us during prayer, we ask that God always “give us an attitude of gratitude” for the many blessings he has bestowed upon us. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
FRIDAY LAST
We convened at a packed Pop’s Pizza for wonderful meal. It was a busy program between the Youth of the Month presentation, a few words from Pop’s Pizza owner Scott Frese, and then previews from the high school basketball coaches gathered with us – QND Boys Coach Scott Douglas, QHS Boys Coach Sean Taylor, and QND Girls Coach Eric Orne. Scott Westhaus did the introductions. We thank Scott Frese for his hospitality and wish the coaches nothing but the best as they enter their respective seasons.
YOUTH OF THE MONTH
Congratulations to Quincy Notre Dame High School senior Dan Terwelp for being named our November Youth of the Month. Dan, the son of Joe and Joyce Terwelp, is ranked first in his class and has scored a 27 on the ACT. He is involved in the numerous activities including the German Club and National Honor Society. Next fall Dan plans on continuing his education at either Monmouth College, Quincy University, or Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Dan will pursue a CPA and perhaps law school. Youth of the Month Chairman John Johannes along with Quincy Notre Dame High School Principal Ray Heilmann with the introductions.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“If you know my dad, you know he’s probably pissed at one you.” QND Coach Scott Douglas explaining why his father and former Exchangite, Jim, more-than-likely, declined Scott’s invite to join us for the basketball preview. To which Skip Reuter immediately replied, “It’s not my fault if he can’t take a joke!” I doubt Skip is the reason but the two comments drew plenty of laughs.
THIS & THAT
Jim Benz with the prayer and Steve Wellman leading us in the pledge… Former Exchangite Mike Brennan the guest of Kent Anderson… President Kevin Curran telling the group he knew it was time to start the program when the always-late Rich Lavery showed up… President Kevin also telling us about the Secret Santa program sponsored by the Quincy Park District. President Kevin has been a volunteer for the program for several years. The Park District is looking for men who will call 4-5 kids on the evening December 7th or 8th and be Santa Claus for them. Sounds like a cool thing. If you are interested, please contact President Kevin or the Quincy Park District… Jeff Dorsey giving a shout-out to all the men who attended the John Ortwerth tribute at QU… GIVEAKIDACHANCE Chairman Charlie Ledbetter is seeking volunteers to assist with the Christmas dinner on Friday evening, December 4th at the Quincy Senior Center. Couples are most welcome. Be there near 6:15 p.m. and should be done around 8:00ish… President Kevin telling us all the morning shifts for the Special Olympics basketball tournament have been filled but several afternoon shifts remain open… Doug Greenwell won the 50/50 but picked the wrong card (jack of hearts) so the pot grows… Steve Peters twisting tails and making us laugh. Steve has a great sense of humor and a quick wit… Dr. Joe Bocke turning 70? Say it ain’t so, Joe… NO MEETING this Friday… That's all for now, 'til next time, may God’s love, grace, and peace be with you and the ones you love.
