FALL BRAWL IS THIS SATURDAY!
Gentlemen, Fall Brawl Chairman Mel Dillman reports a low sign up for this Saturday’s Fall Brawl at Cedar Crest Country Club. It is a great time and I encourage all Exchangites to attend this fun and relaxing social – especially those new to the club. Bring your wife and another couple if you wish. Cost is only $15 per person for a great meal (rib eye steak and all the fixings), open bar, and entertainment. If you are interested, please contact Mel via e-mail (mdillman5905@sbcglobal.net) or by phone (228-1208) ASAP. Thank you. By the way, cocktails start at 6:00 p.m. and meal to be served at 7:00 p.m.
THIS FRIDAY
We’ll welcome the 25th President of Culver-Stockton College, Richard Valentine. President Valentine is a 1970 graduate of C-SC and assumed the position of president on July 1st of this year. Not only is President Valentine the first C-SC alumnus to be named president of the college, he has served the college both as a member of the Culver-Stockton Board of Trustees and as former dean of admissions at C-SC. Join us Friday to hear from the Top Dog at “Harvard on the Hill.”
FRIDAY LAST
An interesting look at the Adams County Probation Office and the Evidence Based Practice initiative by Probation Officer Wendy Bockhold. As Wendy and Judge Mark Schuering (who did the introduction) noted, probation is an effort to keep low risk offenders out of the crowded prison system. Probation could include time jail, but not prison. (Those leaving prison are placed on parole – a totally different program than probation.) Hats off to Wendy, Judge Schuering, and Program Chairman Gary Peters for a great program.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“Or join the Exchange Club!” A Skip Reuter quote for the second straight week. Skip’s quote followed a question on what the Anti-Social Personality does. The right answer is “go to prison” but Skip’s response might be correct as well.
EXCHANGITE NOT MAILED…
It was brought to my attention last Friday that the Exchangite has not been printed/mailed the previous three weeks. That (unintentional) error has been fixed. I have printed several copies of the three Exchangite issue that were not printed/mailed and will place them on the table near the name badges on Friday for those of you wishing to have them.
THIS & THAT
Rich Zeidler with the prayer and Mike Disseler leading the pledge… President Kevin Curran citing Hal Broadwater as the best dressed for the day while Kirk Frageman and Perry Terwelp shared the most casual… Good to see Jim Schlepphorst back after a eight week absence… Gus Macker Chairman Steve Greenwell reporting that he and a few others met with Scott McNeil and are exploring the future of Macker… Jim Benz gave us a great report on Character Champions. WGEM is producing a video on the program and Jim told us about a very nice thank you letter written by the Unity High School basketball coach… Congratulation to Sonny Christner for being recognized with the So Proudly We Hail award… I went with the Skip Reuter quote but again, could have picked several others including Dick Wentura’s “This is another good question”… Perry Terwelp won the 50/50 but picked the wrong card (two of spades). Pot grows… GO CARDS!!! See you Friday at Noon and then again Saturday evening at the Fall Brawl… That's all for now, 'til next time, may God’s love, grace, and peace be with you and the ones you love.
