BOARD/OFFICERS:
In just a little over five short months, we’ll induct a new leadership team. Time to put that team together is now. Please see President Art Awerkamp if you are interested in serving. Thank you.
THIS FRIDAY:
We’ll welcome Quincy High School history teacher Rob Mellon to the podium. Rob will speak to us about President Abraham Lincoln but with a different twist. Rob will tell us about Lincoln’s personality and thought process. Rob is one of the several individuals who serve on the Lincoln’s Legacy speakers bureau.
In addition, I’m pretty sure we have a Youth of the Month presentation. Should be another good one. See you Friday!
FRIDAY LAST:
Great presentation by WGEM Director of Operation, Jim Lawrence, on the history, reasoning, and possible delay on the switch from analog television to digital television. Jim had an excellent Power Point presentation that broke it all down for us. WGEM General Manager Carlos Fernandez with the introduction.
CHARACTER CHAMPIONS:
Congratulations to the four local high school students who were selected as our 2009 Character Champions. (See Photo of the Week.) Those recognized last week were: Hilary Obert (QND); Jake Claymore (Southeastern H.S.); Drew Miller (Central H.S.), and Brian Terstriep (Liberty H.S.). QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
I joined the Quincy Exchange Club because… “I was on my way to join the Kiwanis, but I got the day wrong.” Paul Niemann’s response to the question posed a couple weeks ago. Very good, Paul. How would you finish?
THIS & THAT:
Mike Lavery with the prayer and Doug Greenwell leading the pledge. Dr. Joe Bocke’s son, Brad, a guest… Good to see Steve Looten and Mike McLaughlin back with us… Ric Hinkamper reading his 2nd or 3rd Exchangite and now comes news that Ron Dryer has never received a weekly bulletin. I believe Ron joined the club back in 2005 which means he has missed between 150-200 Exchangites. Wow! He’s on the list now. Anyone else? Let me know… The first Macker meeting was conducted last Thursday. Macker Co-Chairman Steve Green and Doug Greenwell seeking help with another major sponsor. If you have an idea, please share with them. Next meeting on 2/19… Jeff “Big Dog” Dorsey doing the tail twisting with help from Sonny Christner… Curt Moore won the 50/50 but picked the wrong card (two of spades). Elvin Townsend kept quite last week… That's all for now, 'til next time, may God’s love, grace, and peace be with you and the ones you love.
